5Points Creative Designs Wrap For New Valley Metro Electric Bus

Valley Metro revealed Roanoke’s first electric buses on March 25, including one featuring a custom wrap designed by 5Points Creative. The new buses offer an eco-friendly and accessible transportation option in the Roanoke Valley.

Valley Metro engaged the team at 5Points Creative to create an eye-catching custom bus wrap that celebrates the sustainability of the bus and encapsulates the Roanoke Valley. The organization wanted the wrap to excite residents and visitors, inspiring them to try a fully electric mode of public transportation.

Valley Metro Assistant General Manager Ron Parker opened the reveal event, followed by remarks from Valley Metro General Manager Kevin Price, former Councilwoman Trish White-Boyd, a representative from the City Manager’s Office, and Mayor Joe Cobb on the impact the fully electric buses will have on the city.

“We are thrilled to unveil Roanoke’s first electric, battery-powered buses,” Parker said. “These new buses will not only reduce our carbon footprint but also enhance quality of life with cleaner, quieter, and more efficient transit options.”

Manufactured by GILLIG in California, the buses were driven cross-country to Roanoke. They are fully battery-powered, chargeable at any standard charging station, and designed to cut emissions while improving service reliability.

“It’s rewarding to see what the graphic designers here at 5Points Creative created with this bus wrap,” Creative Director Kym Ricketts said. “We are always very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with organizations like Valley Metro and can’t wait to continue working with them.”
